About Me
Hey, I’m Timothy Bush. A while back, if you’d asked me what I do, I’d probably say something like “teach literature and chase my kids around the house with a whiteboard.” But life has a funny way of reshaping your identity.
Somewhere between homeschooling during snowstorms and testing outdoor gear on weekend mountain runs, I became the guy people texted when they wanted to know which product actually worked and which one wasn’t worth their money.
Where It Began
We used to live in a small rental cabin just outside Salt Lake City. My wife and I had decided to homeschool our kids not out of rebellion, but out of curiosity. We wanted our days to be more alive, more flexible, more honest. That meant math on the kitchen table, science on trail walks, and recess on a snowboard.

Along the way, I got obsessive (in a good way) about tools and tech that could keep up with us. Whether it was finding an all-weather tablet case or a thermos that didn’t leak at 9,000 feet, I tested everything on the go.
Why I Started This Blog
In 2025, after one too many “Hey Timothy, what laptop should I buy for my kid?” messages, I realized I could either keep answering one friend at a time or put it all in one place. That’s how Home school snow boarding was born. It’s a strange name, I know. But it’s a pretty honest reflection of my life: part practicality, part adventure, and a whole lot of trial and error. I don’t chase affiliate trends. I share what I’ve used, broken, loved, or returned. No fluff, no fancy studio photos just the stuff that’s earned its keep in our household.
These Days
We’re now settled in Colorado, in a home where the snow still falls and the kids still argue about who gets to test the newest gadget. I still teach just in a different way. This blog has become my side project, my sandbox, and my quiet rebellion against the noise of internet reviews written by people who’ve never opened the box. If you’re someone who wants the real story before clicking Buy Now, you’re in the right place.

Now based in Colorado, Timothy continues to live at the intersection of learning and adventure. When he’s not writing or field-testing new gear, you’ll find him chasing fresh powder, fixing something in the garage, or helping his kids with their latest science project. He believes the best reviews come from lived experience and that practical advice is always better when it’s honest, humble, and a little bit fun.
